Harnessing The Power of Intention

Harnessing The Power of Intention

‘And then it just happened, out of nowhere, the Chairman volunteered the very thing I needed to know to progress the project. I didn’t have to ask, he opened up, he shared something very personal with me and it gave me the insight and understanding I needed. I couldn’t believe it, it was so perfect. I never really understood this intention stuff, but now I see it over and over again. When I am focused and clear on my intention serendipity happens, it’s almost magical.’ INEXORABLE Coaching Client

Dr. Wayne Dwyer wrote an entire book on The Power of Intention, it’s a subject one can obviously delve deep into, and equally it’s an underutilised resource that’s easy to harness to accelerate your success.

If you are seeking to leverage your most valuable assets, time, and energy, and bring your burning desires to life quicker, faster, and more effortlessly, intentionality can support you to thrive.

Your natural creative state is joy-filled magnificence, yet the white noise and distraction of our current world see us working at a fast pace trying to balance the daily pressures of business and life, often frustrated and overwhelmed by the seemingly never-ending mountain of commitments that lay before us.

Harnessing the power of intention gives you the clarity to see the truth, refine your thinking, connect to your inner compass, see opportunity where it did not previously exist, and be far more effective in bridging the gap between your desire and your destiny.

The ancient Vedic Sanskrit text Upanishads declares, “You are what your deepest desire is. As your desire is, so is your intention. As your intention is, so is your will. As your will is, so is your deed. As your deed is, so is your destiny.”

Spending even a few moments of your time to refine your focus, and align your energy to the intended outcome of a phone call, email, presentation, meeting, project, or even relationship will pay off as a profitable investment, you’ll often see outcomes being realised in ways you never expected.

The process is simple, it is the regular focus and commitment which opens your mind and aligns your heart to new potential and possibility, building momentum so you can fly higher.

This practice when employed often, will also help you identify your blind spots and free you from conscious or unconscious habits and limitations. Sometimes you may uncover what is beneath the surface of your mind, which is not always comfortable, but definitely powerful. It builds emotional intelligence and gives you the opportunity to flip your perspective and the things that have kept you distracted, procrastinating, stuck, caught in stress, overwhelmed, or anxious.

When you are aligned and in rhythm with your destiny, inner peace, and harmony live at your core. However, when the big emotional distractors kick in and you find yourself saying things like; it's someone else’s fault and blaming, judging, feeling emotional turmoil, resentment, anger, and the gem of all gems, having to be right, these are indicators that you are off course and it is time to check in, realign and refocus.

An Aboriginal Healer from Northern Australia who was a guest host at one of my retreats founded his transformational work on the premise ‘It just is.’ Duncan who was one of the ‘stolen children’ and had many a reason to be bitter and twisted, said ‘The way to navigate those great distractors is to drop the story and drama, step out of the right, wrong, good, bad axis, accept what is and adopt ‘It Just Is’ as your new mind and heart set.

Bringing your awareness back to your intention continually throughout your day, gives you the insight and understanding required to see just how you take yourself off course or give your time and energy away to habits, emotions, and mindsets that see you zigzagging to your destination, sometimes tumultuously, instead of staying in focus and on purpose, sailing through life exuding the joy-filled magnificence that you are.

Einstein said, “Everything is energy and that’s all there is to it. Match the frequency of the reality you want and you cannot help but get that reality. It can be no other way. This is not philosophy. This is physics.”

All that said let’s get into the simple act of focused intention, before you start your day, a meeting, phone call, presentation, etc.

• Sit comfortably.
• Breathe a little slower and deeper than usual.
• Imagine breathing into the center of your heart.
• Imagine your desired outcome, keep it simple. An investor saying yes, a new client, your product gone to market, your yacht sailing to its next destination.
• Imagine the qualities required to bridge the gap between your desire and destiny; building trust with your team, constituents, or clients, effective communication, authenticity, being heard, openness to new ideas, compassion, courage, kindness, generosity, etc.
• Infuse your heart with these positive emotions, feelings, and attitudes.
• Breathe into your heart and imagine what you will feel when your intention is realised.
• Send these emotions to the others involved.
• Ask your heart what it wants to express.
• Be in appreciation and gratitude for your intention coming to life.
• Enjoy the process.

I asked a very successful friend what was the key to her success and she said ‘Keep it simple and practice, practice, practice.

Over to you, it’s your turn, practice, practice, practice and be curious.

Consistent action creates sustainable change.

I’d love to hear what you experience or create.

Have as much fun as you possibly can.

Much love

Michelle
